Fight Decided Without Walcott Knowing It - The Record American, May 26, 1965

Newspaper clipping about the confusion on the part of the referee, Jersey Joe Walcott, at the rematch fight between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston. Walcott failed to pick up the count from the timekeeper when Liston was knocked down by Ali in the first round, resulting in Liston never hearing the count or knowing that he was out.
