Muhammad Ali Stars As... Muhammad Ali!
Deciding to go another round with acting, Muhammad Ali starred as himself in the 1977 biographical film, The Greatest. This film told the story of Ali's life from his Gold Medal win at the 1960 Rome Olympics, up until his "Rumble in the Jungle" fight against George Foreman.
This film also introduced us to the song "The Greatest Love of All," written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed specifically for the movie and recorded by George Benson. Most people today are more familiar with Whitney Houston's rendition that was released in 1985.
