In the Face of Adversity: Muhammad Ali's Conscientious Objection
The Muhammad Ali Museum and Education Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The 6 Core Principles
When Muhammad and Lonnie Ali established the Muhammad Ali Museum and Education Center in 2005, they wanted it to act as a place of reflection and self-discovery, not a shrine to the boxer. With the Center's establishment, Ali's Six Core Principles were devised: Spirituality, Confidence, Dedication, Respect, Giving, and Conviction. All six of these principles were made to represent what Muhammad Ali considered to be the keys to "the greatest" life. In his refusal to join the United States Army based on his religious beliefs, Ali demonstrated all six in his pursuit of justice.
