The Rome Daily American was an American newspaper established and published in Rome, Italy. This special Olympic edition features information and reporting on the opening papade, the opening ceremony, a history of the Olympic Games, as well as photographs and records. 

The Rome Daily American Olympic Special Edition was donated to the Muhammad Ali Center by John Dyrud in 2011.

The 1960 Olympic Games boasted 83 participating nations and over 5,300 athletes, the most in Olympic history. Among the athletes were 611 women. Overall, the Games were made up of 150 events in 23 disciplines.
