The Later Years

After Muhammad Ali's official and final retirement, Angelo Dundee stayed very active in the world of professional boxing. He went on to train World Champion boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, he acted as cornerman for George Foreman in the 1990s when he became the oldest boxer to ever win the title of Heavyweight Champion, and he consulted on a few movies like Ali (of course) and Cinderella Man

In 2007, Dundee made the journey from Florida to Louisville, Kentucky, to visit the Muhammad Ali Center for a fundraiser entitled Rumble Replay. Ali's fight against George Foreman in Zaire was played once again, and the pair reunited to reminisce about the "good old days" back at the Fifth Street Gym.

In 2010, the Fifth Street Gym in Miami Beach, Florida reopened under new management. Both Ali and Dundee attended the reopening to share their own stories about the gym, surrounded by photographs and posters of Ali's greatest boxing achievements.
